Copenhagen, Denmark - UPF-Denmark held its second Interfaith Religious Leaders Meeting on Feb. 2, 2013. As the event coincided with the World Interfaith Harmony Week established by the United Nations, the theme of the meeting was interfaith harmony. Participants included two Christian pastors and two evangelists, two Muslim leaders and the national leader of Scientology in Denmark.
After the participants introduced each other, Nobuhiro Igarashi, co-chairman of UPF-Denmark, read aloud several passages from the World Scripture book about interfaith harmony. After that Bashy Quraishy, the chairman of the European Network Against Racism, and Peter Karangi, an internationally known Christian evangelist, spoke on interfaith harmony, and both offered representative prayers. Finally all the participants joined hands and prayed together, creating a warm and deep experience of harmony.
Agreeing that the meeting had been very valuable, the participants decided to hold another meeting in March. During the lunch, the participants celebrated Bashy Quraishy’s birthday.
