São Paulo, Brazil - World Interfaith Harmony Week was celebrated at the São Paulo Municipal Chamber, on Feb. 10, with the support of City Councillor Gilberto Natalini and the Paulistanos Movement for Peace, an interfaith group.

The following representatives were called to the head table: Sacerdote Mahesvara, from the Hare Krishna Mvement; Rev. Christian Lepelletier, from the Universal Peace Federation and the Unification Movement; Sacerdote Tata Matamoride Eduardo Brasil, from the Angola Candomble tradition; Sacerdote Mother Liliana d´Oxum, from the Umbanda tradition; and Massayo Saka, a Buddhist.

Each participant read a passage from their respective holy scriptures and then shared insights about the core values of a culture of peace. All the words that were shared helped the audience to understand that the teaching of the different religions have most of the core values in common and thus could cooperate to build a better world.
