Dhaka, Bangladesh - An Interfaith Harmony Rally on Feb. 1 opened the observances of World Interfaith Harmony Week 2015 at the University of Dhaka. At the rally many religious leaders and interfaith activists expressed their determination to dedicate their lives to promoting interfaith harmony.
Organizations taking part in the rally included the Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue of the University of Dhaka, the International Association for Religious Freedom, United Religions Initiative, Religions for Peace and the Warm Heart Association, as well as UPF.
A seminar on the theme "What Is Interfaith Harmony and What Is It for?" took place on Feb. 4 at the University of Dhaka. Dr M. Abdul Hye, the secretary general of Vidya Sagar Society in Bangladesh, was the keynote speaker. Enent Bangladeshi scholars taking part in the discussion included Prof. Nusrat Sultana, secretary general of the Warm Heart Association, and Prof. Hiren Biswas, president of the Bangladesh National Hindu Reform Society. Professor Kazi Nurul Islam was the moderator.
