World Interfaith Harmony Week Observed in Nepal

Lalitpur, Nepal - NIMS College in Lalitpur hosted a World Interfaith Harmony Week program on Feb. 5, 2015. About 70 people attended the event.
The program started with prayers by different religious leaders followed by a welcome speech by the principal of the college.
Ram Chandra Bhandari, a Hindu religious leader, spoke on the value of interfaith harmony and peace while Mr. Binod Dangi addressed the gathering saying UPF is supporting and organizing the World Interfaith Harmony Week in promoting religious harmony and peace in Nepal. Also he read a message by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
A few people spoke, among them Mrs. Indira Manandar, president of Religion for Peace, who stressed that if people of all faiths work together as one, there will not be war in the world and world peace can be create through religious harmony.
This college and a few other colleges in Lalitpur want UPF and interfaith groups to bring more character development, peace education and interaction programs in the future.
