Lima, Peru—On February 10, UPF-Peru held an event to celebrate UN World Interfaith Harmony Week 2016.
More than 80 guests attended the celebration; among them were representatives and members of seven faiths: Adventist, Catholic, Anglican, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist.
Remarks were given by UPF-Peru vice president, Gen. Hector John Caro, and Congressman Dr. Yonhy Lescano, who both spoke about the importance of religious unity and the important contribution that UPF Founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon has made to this work.
Representatives from the seven faiths also spoke about their beliefs, prayed together and lit candles for world harmony. The Jewish and Muslim representatives embraced each other.
There was a wonderful spirit of harmony and unity throughout the event.
