UPF-Nigeria Honored for Interfaith Celebration

Abuja, Nigeria—The Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought has presented the certificate of award of Honorable Mention of the 2017 King Abdullah II of Jordan World Interfaith Harmony Week Prize to the Universal Peace Federation-Nigeria and the United Religions Initiative-West Africa in recognition of the Special Conference of Religious Educators, Leaders and Organizations on Interreligious Peace that was held on February 4, 2017, at the National Merit Award House in Abuja, Nigeria. In commemoration of the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week 2017, the conference mandated the constituting of an interfaith study committee on interreligious affairs to work on strategies for empowerment of religious organizations as well as promotion of interreligious cooperation.
