St. Petersburg, Russia—UPF marked World Interfaith Harmony Week 2018 with a roundtable held at the St. Petersburg Jewish Community Center.
The roundtable "Dialogue of Cultures: Different Traditions—Common Goals" was held on February 2, 2018, by the St. Petersburg branch of UPF together with the local Jewish community.
The UPF roundtable has become a platform for meeting and networking, creating new ideas and plans for cooperation.
Boris Slivkin, head of the "Maccabees" youth movement, told the participants about the large-scale activities of the Jewish community in the field of sports development, as well as interfaith dialogue.
Vadim Polyansky, the leader of the community and an Ambassador for Peace, answered the guests’ questions, among whom were students from different countries and different religions. The young people were interested in the traditions and culture of the Jewish people, as well as in the public activities of the community.
Natalia Chigrina, the head of the Northwest Russia branch of UPF, spoke about the Ambassadors for Peace movement, as well as UPF support of interreligious dialogue and cooperation, and various social and philanthropic projects.
