Jakarta, Indonesia - At the Ambassadors for Peace Headquarters in Jakarta, the International Day of Peace was observed on September 27. Ms. Rini Tjitrasari, chair of the Indonesia Ambassadors for Peace Association, was the MC. The guest of honor, Dr. Payaman Simanjuntak, former Senior Adviser to the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, gave the Opening Remarks, and Mr. Oscar Sinurat, chair of UPF-Indonesia, delivered the Welcoming Address, including a PowerPoint presentation introducing the Universal Peace Federation, and showed the video “Quest for Peace.”
The UPF Peace Declaration was read, followed by observing one minute of silence in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of bringing peace and for those who are still championing the right to achieve peace.
Following this, the Ambassador for Peace Program was introduced by Ms. Fennieka Kristianto, a lawyer, President and Director of Minerva Athena Publisher, as well as Secretary General of Gerai Merai Putih. Fourteen new Ambassadors for Peace were given certificates of appointment.
