Day of Peace in Alaska, USA

USA-2008-09-21-Day of Peace in Alaska, USA

Anchorage, Alaska, USA - On September 22, volunteers from the Alaska took part in the International Day of Peace with an enthusiastic “Honk for Peace” rally in Anchorage. The young people developed their plan after visiting the International Day of Peace official website, where they learned that the purpose of this day is to “celebrate and bring the universal message of peace and ceasefire to homes globally.”

Youth volunteers created their own handmade signs with messages for the International Day of Peace. Then they held their “Honk for Peace” demonstration at a busy intersection in Anchorage – smiling, waving, and displaying their signs with messages of peace to all who passed by.

This unique project for the International Day of Peace was a great learning experience for the participants and brought the spirit of the International Day of Peace to the great state of Alaska.
