In Taipei, I-Lan, Taichung, and Kaouhsiung, Ambassadors for Peace assembled for Friendship Gatherings and to spend time together in meditation and prayers for peace. At the main event in Taipei, Ambassadors for Peace from different religious backgrounds, Christian Rev. Yi-Mu Tsai, Taoist Mr. Cheng-Yu Wu, and Family Federation for World Peace Dr. Guh Cheng, offered representative prayers for peace in the world and in this nation. Rev. Mai-Hsien Chai gave a lecture introducing the International Day of Peace, followed by meditation and prayer.
Dr. Kang-Kuo Ho, a Professor at the National Taiwan Normal University and an Ambassador for Peace, had just returned from the Global Peace Festival in Mongolia and gave a report about the events there. Finally, everyone signed the Peace Declaration.
At the Taichung event, participants wrote down their prayers for peace on a wish card. A member of the board of UPF-Taiwan and the convener of the Taichung Ambassadors for Peace Friendship Gatherings, Dr. Jih-Shen Lee, and Ambassador for Peace Ms. Si-Rong Ho shared with the participants how they practice the way of peace in their daily life.
