Kabul, Afghanistan - UPF-Afghanistan organized two celebrations of the International Day of Peace:

  • At the Marifat Educational Society in Dast-e-Barci, Kabul, on September 19 on the theme: "Young Ambassadors for Peace is the way to create a peaceful world." One hundred people were in attendance, including the District Leader of Dast-e-Barci, the Police District Chief of Dast-e-Barci, the Director of the AIMS Educational Society, the Director of the Maqsoodi Educational Society, and the Director of the Shibar Cultural Association.
  • At the Fetrat Educational Society in Unci, Dast-e-Barci, Kabul, on September 24 on the theme: "Young Ambassadors for Peace is the way to create a peaceful world." One hundred people were in attendance, including the Director of the Shibar Cultural Association, the Director of the AIMS Educational Society, and the Director of the Maqsoodi Educational Society.

On September 20, as representatives of the Universal Peace Federation, Mr. and Mrs. Umberto Angelucci attended the International Day of Peace celebration sponsored by the UN Development Programme at the Kabul Medical University. Five hundred people were present. At this occasion we had an opportunity to introduce UPF activities to the main directors of the UNDP and plan to work in partnership in Afghanistan.
