Bratislava & Dunajska Luzna, Slovakia - Together with the International Relief Friendship Foundation and the Family Federation for World Peace, UPF organized two projects to celebrate the International Day of Peace 2008 in Slovakia. Both projects involved schools: the UNESCO school in the capital city, Bratislava, and an elementary school in the community of Dunajska Luzna, near Bratislava.
Pupils in both schools painted post cards on the theme of peace. Teachers explained to the students about the International Day of Peace and its purpose. The cards will be offered for sale at tables in large shopping centers, with volunteers explaining about the International Day of Peace to the public. The money collected will be given to those two schools.
