Day of Peace in Macao

Macao, China - On September 19, 2009, the Family Federation for World Peace–Macao responded to the Universal Peace Federation's call to celebrate the UN International Day of Peace.
Ms. Vilma Passamai, the Federation's vice president, was the master of ceremonies. The event started with a meditation for peace. Then, Mrs. Alice Huang, Asia Director of the International Educational Foundation, gave the opening remarks. Mr. Panfilo Lumibao, Vice President of the Federation, gave a speech, and Ms. Irine recited a beautiful poem about peace. Ms. Huang delivered a lecture on “The Root of Cause and Resolution of Conflict,” calling every person to be a peacemaker who can help solve interpersonal conflicts. "If everyone can increase their awareness and create inner peace," she said, "they can contribute to world peace."
More than 20 participants attended this event. In the program, the work of Ambassadors for Peace around the world was presented. Ms. Passamai also presented character education as a way to teach people about laying down weapons.
