Munich, Germany - “You will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, if you believe." Matthew 21:22
This Bible verse was the motto for the UPF interreligious peace prayer evening held in Munich, Germany. Prayer is more powerful than any weapon, in the opinion of the 25 participants from seven different religious communities.
This initiative was in support of the UN peace efforts. And as a start, the message of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was read.
As the Catholics, Lutherans, Evangelicals, Sufis, Christian Scientists, Muslims, and Unificationists gathered for prayer and meditation for peace in the world, it seemed like the Spirit of God descended. Each of them gave a short statement on their view of peace and offered their prayers to heaven.
Meditative music played by local musicians accompanied the event.
