Tallinn, Estonia - UPF Estonia hosted a UN International Day of Peace event in our Peace Embassy, with about 30 people in attendance. Three presentations were given:
Peace Topics in the Bible – by Roland Rand
How Estonia could contribute to the promotion of Peace – by Ilvi Jõe-Cannon
UPF’s Contribution to the Peace Building Process – by Johann Hinterleitner
The third presentation emphasized the dedicated efforts of UPF Founder Dr. Sun Myung Moon towards the establishment of an interreligious council within the United Nations.
The program closed with two beautiful songs, offered by a professional opera singer of the Tallinn Opera House.
Participants shared their thoughts about peace while enjoying some refreshments.

Another event took place in a school in the Estonian countryside. UPF volunteer Niina Sinilova, who began to work in the Rakke Gymnasium as an English language teacher at the beginning of September, arranged a simple yet well-appreciated program with the school’s director.
Here is her report:
Rakke High school students gathered during their break time to mark the International Day of Peace. The students were shown a presentation that introduced the background of the day. This was followed by a short film about peace, made by an independent journalist. The event ended by lighting a candle of peace accompanied by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon, which stirred people's emotions and added significance to this day.
