Day of Peace in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

Russia-2010-09-25-Day of Peace in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

Nizhny Novgorod, Russia - Young Ambassadors for Peace went to the main street of the city on September 25 and appealed to citizens to donate to the Rehabilitation Center, which provides social support for people with no fixed dwelling.

The Rehabilitation Center takes care of the homeless people, giving them temporary accommodations and a meal and helps them to renew their lost personal papers. Many of them became homeless not of their own free will and they nurture desire to start their life afresh. This assistance enables people to make the first steps forward. With their donations, the citizens of Nizhny Novgorod help open the way for such people into new and fruitful socially adapted life.

Through this activity the citizens of Nizhny Novgorod learned much more about the Day of Peace, its background and importance in modern time. Also, they could make a concrete step towards the world peace and equality!
