Torva, Estonia - UPF-Estonia held an International Day of Peace event in a high school in the South of Estonia on September 21. I have known one of the English teachers in this school for quite a number of years, and together with her I arranged this presentation for about 35 teenagers ages 16-18.
Estonians are known - including by themselves - as shy people and not overly expressive. That is why I included many questions in the presentation. The pupils and the two teachers listened very attentively throughout the presentation.
The presentation made the following points:
1. Conflicts of all kinds start from the minds and hearts of people; that is why the solution is also in the minds and hearts of people.
2. We can distinguish between inner peace, within each person, and outer peace in our shared world.
3. Each person can be a peacemaker, even if it is only on a small level.
