It was offered for the occasion by the General Director of the Albanian National Cultural Center for Children, Prof. Flamur Shehu, who is also the acting Chairman of National Peace Council of UPF-Albania.
The participants were welcomed by Mr. Gani Rroshi, president of the Family Federation in Albania, who was the moderator of the event. Two people offered greetings: the vice-chairwoman of Tirana Peace Council, Mrs. Shega Murati, and the Chairman of the Roma Union of Albania, Mr. Skender Veliu who is also an Ambassador for Peace.
The program continued with a wonderful artistic performance of dance and songs provided by the Albanian National Cultural Center for Children.
Around 100 people attended the event, and 50 children selected by the Union of Roma people in Albania were given packages with the most necessary school items. We were informed that these children would not have had these supplies if they were not provided by us.
Shkodra - The following day we went to Shkodra to distribute the same types of school items to 30 other Roma children. We were welcomed by the Director of Illyria Elementary and Middle School, who expressed his great appreciation for the support we were giving to those children. We explained to the recipients about the International Day of Peace, and they promised to be the best pupils and peacemakers in their classes. The event concluded with a group photo.
Once again we would like to express our grateful heart to those who donated their time and resources so that these 80 children could have some hope and encouragement on the International Day of Peace!
