International Day of Peace Celebrated in Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand - In schools throughout Thailand, the UN International Day of Peace was observed at 8:00 am on Sept. 19, 2014, with the reading peace messages and observing one minute of silence.
At the main event in Rajadhivas School in Bangkok, Mr. Somtob Tosurat, director of Rajadhivas School, gave welcoming remarks, and Mr. Anan Rangabtuk, an inspector of the Ministry of Education, gave the keynote address. Gen. Terdsak Marrome, president of UPF-Thailand, read the message from Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, prime minister of Thailand, and Dr. Gwang-Jo Kim, director of UNESCO Bangkok, read UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message on the International Day of Peace 2014.
