International Day of Peace Celebrated in Nicaragua

UPF-Nicaragua organized International Day of Peace events in Leon and Managua, Sept. 21 and 22, 2014.
Leon
In the main hall of the Hotel Convento in Leon an event on Sept. 21 was sponsored by the Family Federation for World Peace in coordination with UPF. There were 170 guests including Ambassadors for Peace, government officials and civil society representatives.
After the national anthem, the event was opened a prayer by a Christian leader and then a brief lecture was given by Dr. Riso Castellón, an expert employed by the government department of health. Her lecture talked about the prevention of suicide, since this is a problem in this region.
Then the leader of UPF-Nicaragua, Rev. Jorge Luiz de Oliveira, gave a lecture on the vision of the UPF for peace based on the conviction that we are all "One family under God." People expressed much appreciation for his lecture.
A beautiful typical folk dance was presented.
Also the opportunity was taken to present certificates to new Ambassadors for Peace. They are as follows:

Managua
In the main hall of the Commercial Science University of Managua, an activity on Sept. 22 commemorated the International Day of Peace. The invitation was issues by the university, headed by its President Lic. Nejama Bergman Padilla. There were 150 people in attendance, including students, teachers and other administrative staffs.
They were very receptive receptive to the presentation by Rev. Oliveira about the vision of the UPF: "One family under God."
