International Day of Peace Observed in Pakistan

Mirpurkhas, Pakistan—A seminar on peace was organized by UPF and ADARSH (Association for Development Awareness and Rehabilitation to Save Humanity), a local Pakistani NGO, to commemorate the International Day of Peace in Pakistan. The event was held on September 24, 2016 at ADARSH’s office in Mirpurkhas district in Sindh province.
Most of the participants were youth and came from Mirpurkhas as well as from Umerkot, Sanghar and Tando Allahyar districts.
The president of the Bheel Intellectual Forum (BIF), Mr. Sabhago Mal Bheel, said that we are all human and brothers. Hate toward others must end and we must choose the way of peace. He also said that we are in the age of the Internet and communication and that people are looking for peace.
Mr. Amarchand, a teacher from Umerkot district, and engineer Mr. Kishore Kumare, spoke next. Mr. Kumar said that leaders need to think about human welfare and provide equal access to education and health and equal protection of human rights to all.
Mr. Hassan Hingoro from Tando Allahyar district said that Muslims, Hindus and Christians are all brothers; we are all one in the eyes of God. Every religion gives the message of peace, and we need to live together like brothers.
Social activist Ms. Radha Kumari Bheel said the Provincial Assembly of Sindh province recently passed a bill that will increase the social benefits that people may receive from the government.
At the end of seminar, the president of ADARSH, Mr. Sarwan Kumar Bheel, thanked UPF and spoke about the UPF Principles of Peace and UPF Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s vision for world peace. He said the seminar has been a great activity for peace by connecting people of different faiths from different districts of Sindh together.
The seminar concluded with Mr. Bheel thanking all the participants for attending the program.
