Pointe-Noire, Congo—About 30 dignitaries, including UPF Ambassadors for Peace, attended a celebration of UN International Day of Peace 2016.
The Republic of Congo chapter of UPF held the meeting on September 24 in the Oken Palace Hotel in Pointe-Noire, the second-largest city in Congo.
The meeting featured the appointment of two new Ambassadors for Peace.
After an opening prayer by Mr. Michel Bounda, master of ceremonies Valentin Madingou introduced Mr. Victor Matondo, the chair of the Pointe-Noire chapter of UPF, who read the official message for International Day of Peace from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Next came a presentation about the vision for peace of UPF Founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, given by the secretary general of the Pointe-Noire chapter of UPF.
Rev. Norbert Ndielle Moutsatsi, the national leader of the Congo chapter of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an affiliated organization, presented the UPF Five Principles of Peace.
Finally it came time for the ceremony in which two dignitaries were given certificates appointing them to be UPF Ambassadors of Peace.
The meeting ended with the taking of group photographs.
