International Day of Peace Observed in Central African Republic

Bangui, Central African Republic—To commemorate the UN International Day of Peace, whose theme for this year was “Together for Peace,” the Central African Republic branch of UPF organized a peace education workshop with the Church Cooperation Jesus Christ’s young ambassadors of Mandja-Otto in the sixth borough of Bangui.
Among the 50 participants were Chief Pastor Paul Vouka, head of the youth branch of the church; Pastor Dieudonné Faima; and Deacons Bienvenu Gbogoro and Anicet Gaza.
After leading the participants in a Christian song, the emcee introduced Rev. Noel Mathias Salogba, the secretary general of UPF-Central African Republic (UPF-CAR), who then introduced the members of his delegation: Pastor Jean Paul Gere-Kobwanga, vice president of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification-Central African Republic (FFWPU-CAR), and Pastor Steve Moguendja Mokalo, secretary general of FFWPU-CAR.
The first presentation on "The 5 Universal Principles of Peace" was given by Mr. Mokalo. The second, entitled, "Attitudes and Behavior for Success in Studies," was chosen in collaboration with the Church so as to prepare young people to begin the next school year with responsibility.
Participants were thrilled to have taken part in the event; Mr. Vouka said the following: “We thank God for giving us the opportunity this afternoon to learn many good things through the teachings of the Universal Peace Federation. Two points caught my attention: the family and sexuality. Indeed, parents are the lighthouses of the family. They have a responsibility to educate children in the right direction helping them to become good executives of society. Our children will soon return to school; they need education about sexuality.”
He added: “We ask UPF to come back to our church to give us all the relevant teachings. As a chief pastor, I will mobilize all members of the community to take part. We thank you very much for your hard work. We are waiting for you with open arms for the rest of the teaching program. God bless you!”
Mr. Gere-Kombwanga closed the event with a prayer.
