Tbilisi, Georgia—A commemoration of the 2018 International Day of Peace focused on the role of NGOs in peacebuilding.
The meeting was held on September 23 in the offices of UPF under the 2018 Peace Day theme, “The Right to Peace: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70.”
Maka Abugbaia, the chair of UPF-Georgia, gave a presentation about the history and importance of the International Day of Peace, which was created by the United Nations in 1981.
The main guest, Mrs. Dalila Khorava, the head of the non-governmental organization Georgia for Refugees and an Ambassador for Peace, emphasized the importance of the work of all NGOs in the field of peace.
After the meeting, the participants had lunch together and continued to share their ideas.
