Vladivostok, Russia—Just imagine: Sergei Yesenin's verses and songs, with his words accompanied on guitar, performed by famous musicians and professional actors. Melodious music as a background to the rebellious spirit of the poet!
On September 22, 2018, the platform in front of the A.M. Gorky Library became the setting for a variety of activities. Any guest could receive Yesenin's personal message ... and leave a verse message for another reader. In the library's street box, you could leave your favorite poetry books by Yesenin and other equally interesting books for the opening of the reading room "The Soul of Yesenin."
You also could plant a flower to decorate the Alley of Readers. No less interesting was the event "Let There Be Peace!" related to the International Day of Peace.
The Wellnessclub and BoraKami clubs with Marina Lapteva and poetess Natalia Forikova, as well as the Universal Peace Federation represented by the Sergienko family, held a master class on making "peace flowers." Patrons of the library and visitors to Vladivostok from different countries took part in this activity.
Many flowers were handmade in different cities of Russia and were brought to Vladivostok on the Moscow-Vladivostok train or sent by mail! How wonderful it is, when the cascade of handmade "peace flowers” soars to the sky!
We sincerely appreciate the support of Alexander G. Bryukhanov, the director of the A.M. Gorky Regional Public Library, and Irina A.Yugay, the head of the library’s Center for Cultural Programs! We thank each participant of our wonderful Day of Peace and the meeting related to Sergei Yesenin's birthday.
