Tbilisi, Georgia—Around 25 people, both parents and children, gathered in a park to attend a UPF commemoration of UN International Day of Peace.
Maka Abugbaia, the secretary general of UPF-Georgia, gave a talk about the United Nations commemorative day and led discussions on the meaning of peace. The talks included practical steps to create a peaceful and happy family environment.
The children’s activities also had the theme of peace. During role-playing games, children were tasked with finding peaceful solutions to conflicts, and they also created drawings on the theme of "Peace Around Me."
For several years UPF-Georgia has been providing textbooks to local schools and refugee children, and during this event the school-age children were given textbooks and school supplies. The children and their parents accepted the gifts with gratitude, especially since the school year had recently started.
