Sydney, Australia - UPF and the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) jointly organized a luncheon at the Oceania Peace Embassy to celebrate the 100th International Women’s Day on March 5.
On the theme "Women: Walking the Path of Healing Toward Peace," a panel discussion was first held, followed by a Bridge of Peace/Sisterhood Ceremony, then a buffet lunch with an open mike where several participants enthusiastically and warm-heartedly sang songs that had very significant meaning to each of them.
All of the speakers on the panel were UPF Ambassadors for Peace: Pearl Wymerra, a distinguished teacher and researcher about the restoration of people's emotional health and social well-being; Donna Jacobs-Sife, writer, award-winning storyteller, religious educator and peace–worker; and Jynene Helland, WFWP International Vice-President. Each spoke of herr journey with highlights and anecdotes in a discussion moderated by Tracy DeGeer, WFWP-Australia President.
New friendships were made as women crossed the Bridge of Peace together and shared aspects of their life journeys over lunch.
