The events were initiated by the Universal Peace Federation and the Young Ambassadors for Peace Club. Pupils from grades 10, 11, and 12 participated at the creative trainings, developing mutual trust and respect. Young men prepared beautiful posters for women.

Participants learned about history of this day and that it’s not just a day to glorify beautiful women but a day to honor ordinary women who fought for the right to participate in public life along with the men.

During the trainings pupils discussed the following issues: the special role and qualities of women as mothers in peacemaking process; the ideal of man and woman they should aspire to achieve; differences between genders and equality of rights; and ways to support the UN in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Most of the trainings were conducted by Young Ambassadors for Peace.
