Daliet el Carmel, Israel - UPF-Israel honored Israeli government workers who have been promoting interfaith activities during the past four years after attending UPF's International Leadership Conferences and Middle East Peace Initiative events.
The Jan. 26, 2011, event commemorated the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week and promoted the idea of an interreligious council at the UN as well as an interfaith peace council in Israel.
Present were representatives of the four major religions in Israel, and under Druze Sheikh Samich Natur's guidance as MC, everybody was introduced and given the opportunity to speak. Medals of appreciation and Ambassador for Peace certificates were presented, along with books of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's peace messages.
This was completed by a sumptuous dinner prepared by host Sheikh Ali Birani, and his family.
