Tokyo, Japan - The tenth Peace Diplomats Forum on Dec. 2, 2010, in Tokyo promoted the proposal for an interreligious council at the United Nations.
Islamabad, Pakistan - After the July 2010 flooding, UPF-Japan volunteers traveled to Islamabad in November to pack donations and deliver food and mattresses to displaced people at a camp in the Nowshera district.
Tokyo, Japan - “The 50th Anniversary of Independence and the 20th Anniversary of the Democratization of the Republic Benin” was celebrated in Tokyo on November 2, with the participation of nearly 100 people, including many Ambassadors for Peace.
In ancient Japan it is said that there were 8 million gods. Some gods lived in mountains, in big rocks or trees and forests, the sea and rivers. Some of them were strong warriors, foxes, snakes, the moon, the wind and the thunder. The most important of them was the sun, the origin of Shintoism.

Kanagawa, Japan - An “African Soul Party” was held on the theme “Reconciliation by Apology and Forgiveness” in Yokohama city, Kanagawa on June 20. Nearly 70 people, including Africans and Americans in Japan as well as Yokohama citizens, participated.
Tokyo, Japan – On June 16, 2009, the UPF-Japan Board met in a hall in Tokyo. First, Rev. Eiji Tokuno, Co-chair of UPF-Japan, gave an address and presented the various international achievements of UPF. “Although we are facing national as well as international turmoil, let us promote our activities based on a clear vision,” said Rev. Tokuno.
Tokyo, Japan - UPF's 18th Interreligious Forum was held on May 19 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Twenty-five Ambassadors for Peace who represent the religions of Shinto, Buddhism, and Christianity participated in the Forum.

Hiratsuka, Japan - The third “Family Peace Festival in South Kanagawa” was held in a venue in Hiratsuka City in the Kanagawa prefecture on April 26 as a part of the Global Peace Festival. Nearly 1,200 people gathered for the event.
Kobe, Japan - A memorial ceremony on the anniversary of Toyohiko Kagawa’s death was hosted by the Council for Ambassadors for Peace in Hyogo on April 23 in a venue in Kobe city.
Hiroshima, Japan - On March 21, 160 people, including local key figures and Ambassadors for Peace, gathered at the Hiroshima International Conference Hall to attend the Ambassadors for Peace Seminar in West Hiroshima. Mr. Hideo Oyamada described urgent global issues and offered a vision for Japan to play a leading role in promoting world peace through its Ambassadors for Peace.
