Tokyo, Japan - Welcoming H.E. Pengiran Yusuf, the first Prime Minister and the founding father of the State of Brunei to Tokyo, the “La vie en Rose,” an association founded by the women who love Brunei, held their first regular meeting on April 11 on the theme “Brunei Night” and nearly 100 people attended. The event was co-hosted by UPF-Japan and Brunei Darussalam Culture Exchange Association in Tokyo, and sponsored by the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Japan.
I was born from a long line of traditional Shintoists and became a Shinto priest in 1963. I had an inborn gift for mediation and in 1983, I got a revelation from Takamimusubi, a creator god in Japanese religious tradition. At that time, my God became a golden pillar and entered my body in the course of my midwinter discipline, saying, “I have descended from heaven for the sake of world peace.” Until that time I had been praying only for Japan, so I was curious why I had to do something for world peace. Now I understand that my mission for world peace was predestined thirty years ago.

Tokyo, Japan - On December 26, 2008, the UPF-Japan Board met in a hotel in Tokyo. Around 30 board members were present, including the chair, co-chair, executive members, and the chairs of the Ambassadors for Peace Professional Forums. The meeting was convened to sum up the activities of 2008 and consider the action plans for 2009.
Numazu, Japan - On November 9, 2008, a new Peace Embassy was opened in Numazu, a city in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. A month later, the first Ambassadors for Peace seminar was held there.
Only through restoring a relationship with God can humankind resolve all the problems it is facing, such as regional and religious conflicts, poverty and hunger, a leader of the Global Peace Festival said in Tokyo Saturday.

Tokyo, Japan - Fifty thousand people crammed into Tokyo’s Ajinomoto Stadium for the latest in a series of spectacular successes for the Global Peace Festival. One of the largest interfaith gatherings ever held in Japan highlighted months of community service and outreach aimed at encouraging Japan, already a strong player in aid and environmental issues, to become a global force for peace.

Tokyo, Japan - On November 9, 880 people gathered at 9:30 am in Adachi City, part of metropolitan Tokyo, Japan, to clean the banks of the Arakawa River that flows through the eastern part of the city.

Tokyo, Japan - A kick-off banquet for the Global Peace Festival in Japan was held September 3, 2008 at the Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku. The Philippine delegates to the event included officials from the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo: the Labor Attaché, Mr. Danilo Cruz; the Welfare Officer, Ms. Luz Talento; and the Armed Forces and Defense Attaché, Col. Danilo Estropia. Also present was Mrs. Angelita Obara, President of the Filipino Japanese Movement for Global Peace and co-chair of the GPF Japan Filipino Community National Steering Committee.
Tokyo, Japan — Japan should not risk losing its leverage in the world by cutting its aid to developing countries too dramatically, a retired senior Japanese diplomat warned at a July 26, 2008 forum in Tokyo.
Chiba, Japan - A “New Youth Festival 2008” was held in Chiba, a city next to Tokyo, on March 15 with 550 participants.
A delegation of Japanese goodwill ambassadors paid a courtesy call on President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in Monrovia. The six-man delegation headed by Mrs. Ayumi Hasegawa is in the country to identify with President Johnson-Sirleaf and Liberians in general on the reconstruction of the country.
Based on my experience as a Diet Member and a minister of state, I have been very impressed, overwhelmed and moved by Rev. Moon’s strong passion and vision for peace. Above all, my heart beats faster with anticipation by hearing his plan of International Highway, which requires humankind to gather wisdom and act according to it, as well as his Japan-Korea Tunnel Project and Bering Strait Tunnel Project.

Japanese participants in the June 17-21, 2007, International Leadership Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, gained new insights and hope for promoting world peace.
