Interfaith Programs

UPF organizes programs that help build understanding, respect and cooperation among people of different faiths.

Jerusalem, Israel - UPF will hold an Interfaith Consultation for Peace and Development in the Middle East in Jerusalem from August 26 to 28. High-level religious leaders, scholars, and interfaith activists from throughout the world will be in attendance, including people of faith who hold positions in government, the media, the private sector, and civil society.

Toronto, Canada - The chair of UPF in the greater Toronto area, Dr. Hoossen Auckbaraullee, appraised Ambassadors for Peace about his trip to Mauritius, Rev. Mitch Dixon discussed arrangements for the forthcoming 2012 National Conference in Toronto, and Mr. Victor Martinez lectured on “God’s Providence.”

Budapest, Hungary - UPF-Hungary organized a variety of interfaith programs during 2011, including a visit to a Korean Zen Buddhist temple and a discussion with Zen Buddhist monks, a trip to an annual Hindu festival, and the inauguration of an Interreligious Chapel at the Peace Embassy.

Toronto, Canada - At the monthly meeting of Ambassadors for Peace on December 10, Author Qamrul A. Khanson showed two video clips which highlighted the importance of attitude and offered his thoughts on the topic. The lively discussion that followed led to consideration of various ways to help the needy.
