Abuja, Nigeria - UPF-Nigeria in collaboration with UPF-Ethiopia and Global Educators for All Initiative is pleased to announce the convening of a Special Leadership Conference March 27 – 29, 2014, at the African Union Commission headquarters and Nexus Hotels in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The conference is a local follow up to the February International Leadership Conference held in Korea and will provide opportunities to address issues of education, peace and human development on national and regional levels.

Kindu, DR Congo - UPF-DR Congo held an inaugural conference in Kindu in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on Dec. 17, 2013 with 127 participants. Twenty-four new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed, including deputies, provincial ministers, physicians, high state officials, magistrates, religious leaders, traditional chiefs, a provincial director, and an editor for national television. The theme of the conference was "Conflicts in DR Congo: A Challenge for the Achievement of the MDGs."
