Building on the momentum of September's International Day of Peace forum in the Peruvian Congress, a number of Ambassadors for Peace traveled throughout the nation to share UPF's peace vision during the month of October. Weekend trips to Oxapampa, Cerro de Pasco, Puno and Trujillo were filled with interviews, marches, rallies and programs explaining UPF's peace principles.

Bangkok, Thailand - Delegates from 12 nations of South and Southeast Asia representing 32 media houses attended the first Asian Media Conference, Oct. 22-26. They gathered in Thailand to consider the theme: “The Role of the Media in Building Nations of Peace."

St. Petersburg, Russia - Thirty people enthusiastically participated in an Oct. 19 forum in St. Petersburg on "Ways to Achieve Peace." Mr. Nicolai Sokurov, a Young Ambassador for Peace, opened the forum with a presentation about how peace begins in the mind of each individual.

Yekaterinburg, Russia - Meetings introducing the culture of Korea were held in the cozy Ural Library Cultural Center Oct. 5 and 12. The organizers believe that knowledge about different ethnic traditions plays an important role in building a peaceful society, especially when the focus is on searching for and identifying the fundamental values that are present in every culture and common to all the peoples in the world.

Auckland, New Zealand - To foster the development of the Ambassadors for Peace program, 20 Ambassadors for Peace joined UPF organizers on October 12 at the Parnell Peace Embassy in Auckland for a Leadership Conference under the theme “Leadership in Action Towards Building a Nation of Peace.”

Toronto, Canada - Rev. Mitch Dixon spoke at a September 14 meeting of Ambassadors for Peace about the core principles of Universal Peace Federation, which are the concept of one family under God, spiritual connectivity which enhances moral values within humans, the cohesive values within families, living for the sake of others, and striving to build and continually maintain peace through cooperation among people.

Nepalgunj, Nepal - Approximately 260 participants attended the Opening and Closing Sessions of the third Universal Principles of Peace seminar in Nepal August 25-29. Religious leaders from four faith traditions inaugurated the event by demonstrating their unity at the beginning of the five-day program through watering a plant together.

Seoul, Korea - “The greatest tribute we can offer to Rev. Sun Myung Moon is to carry on the great work for peace to which he dedicated his entire life,” said Hon. Jose de Venecia, founding chairman of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties at an International Leadership Conference in Korea Aug. 20-23. “Rev. Moon will be immortal, for there are millions of us who carry his memory in our hearts.”
