Meeting in commemoration of Karine Mane

Dushanbe, Tajikistan - The public organization "Refugees’ Children and Vulnerable Citizens" and UPF hosted a meeting on October 25 during the visit to Dushanbe of Danielle Mane, mother of Karine Mane, a volunteer with the international humanitarian organization "Doctors without Borders" who was killed during the civil war in Tajikistan in 1997.

RYS Youth Improve Monastary in Pokhara, Nepal

Pokhara, Nepal - About 30 dynamic youth representing different faiths attended this year’s project at the Tibetan Buddhist monastery of Ven. Kalsang Lama, one of the most revered spiritual leaders in Nepal. Service activities included painting the wall around the peace prayer wheel, and digging out an area for the wall around the monastery.

Day of Peace 2010: Promoting Peace through Sports

As part of the worldwide celebrations of the International Day of Peace 2010, the Universal Peace Federation designed a one-day Sports for Peace program that integrates sports and education in order to promote peaceful communities. Several UPF chapters organized athletic tournaments as part of their celebrations of the International Day of Peace.
