UPF organizes seminars and conferences related to strengthening marriage and family.

The UPF-Finland held an interfaith panel discussion at the Parliament House on June 5, 2008 on the question “How important is the family for us and the society?”

Russian Ambassadors for Peace decided to conduct in Moscow and other cities and regions of Russia a series of public events during 2008 under the motto “Peace in Heart - Love in the Family – Peace on Earth.” Our overall goal is to build a sustainable civil coalition that is able to provide national leadership to promote patriotic and family values, living for the sake of others, civic accord, peace and reconciliation, interethnic and interreligious cooperation, and dialogue among cultures and civilizations, through arts and culture, sports, service, and education.

The Universal Peace Federation in cooperation with Faithlink Spain is planning a series of talks on the family. Our first conference took place on April 20, in our Peace Embassy, located in Ronda de Segovia 50, Madrid. On this first occasion the psychiatrist José M. López Molina spoke on the theme of sex, drugs, and alcohol. His talk was much more philosophical and spiritual than the sociological and statistical approach that tends to be the standard in this kind of talks.

Panama City, Panama - Panama and its 3 million people are finding new energy as a strategically important nation for uniting the Americas. The Central American nation is e strategic transportation link and a financial hub, but 40 percent of the population is poor and there are serious drug-abuse and moral problems among the youth. Because of this, many government and civic leaders are inspired to become Ambassadors for Peace.

The International Relief Friendship Foundation trained 20 women from a poor area of Harare in microfinancing on Oct. 27, 2007 and gave them a small grant to start selling vegetables.

UPF-Eurasia Assistant Secretary General Konstantin Krylov came from Moscow for the occasion, and gave the welcoming address, reporting on UPF history and activities worldwide. Then, St. Petersburg UPF Director Ilya Zakharov gave presentations on the "Need for Character Education" and "the Family as the School of Love."
