Vienna, Austria - "Sudan – Perspectives for Peace in the Largest African Nation" was the topic of a discussion January 4 in Vienna. The speaker, El Fadil Abbas Mohammed Ali, shared insights about the January 9 referendum in Southern Sudan on whether or not it should remain a part of Sudan.

Moscow, Russia - UPF-Russia sponsored a workshop-discussion on “Human rights and challenges of the 21st century” on November 20, the 60th Anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights and fundamental freedoms. The theme drew the attention of many Ambassadors for Peace, representatives of youth, non-governmental and religious organizations, as well as experts in human rights.

Accra, Ghana - One Sunday morning, I received a call from an organization bringing together students to dialogue and bring reconciliation especially within the Northern Sector of Ghana (a conflict-prone zone). This led to an invitation to participate in the Peace and Reconciliation Process in the Northern Sector and establish UPF in the private universities in Ghana.
