Malaybalay, Philippines - In the first tribal summit in Mindanao, which brought together 40 tribal chieftains along with educators, politicians, representatives from international NGOs, and religious practitioners from Christian, Muslim, and indigenous peoples, there was a new focus.

Benin City, Nigeria - Joining organizations and governments around the world in remembrance of the attacks on September 11, 2001, the Youth Federation for World Peace, Universal Peace Federation, the Nigerian NGO Project Hope and Change, and the government of Edo State, Nigeria, hosted some 200 participants at a commemorative program on effective peace building, "Peace: No Alternative."

New York, NY, USA - On this day, September 11, many of us, and perhaps especially those of us based in New York, reflect on the darker capacities of human hearts and minds that can drive the most inhumane behavior. The actions of a few on this day eight years ago led to the deaths of thousands along with a wide range of destructive collateral actions. On this day, let us pause to consider not only the evil that may be done by others, but to also consider also the ways in which all of us can do more for peace, for justice, for reconciliation.

Hiroshima, Japan - On March 21, 160 people, including local key figures and Ambassadors for Peace, gathered at the Hiroshima International Conference Hall to attend the Ambassadors for Peace Seminar in West Hiroshima.
