Toronto, Canada - An Ambassador of Peace of UPF-Canada's Central District, Sheikh Shazaad Mohammed, accompanied former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson on his first pilgrimage to Mecca and the holy sites in Saudi Arabia. Mike Tyson arrived in Medina August 20 as part of a series of visits organized by the Canadian Dawa Association, headed by Sheikh Shazaad.

Human nature differs from person to person in regards to inherent characteristics, including ways of thinking, attitude, behavior, and performance. We as Jews, Christians, and Muslims hold that humans are a spiritual being created by a monotheistic God, and from generation to generation, human beings have lived, knowingly or unknowingly, in an ongoing relationship with God. Good and evil are defined in terms of how well humans conform to God's commands in Scriptures. The same applies to other religions such as Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism, etc.

Jakarta, Indonesia - H.E. Abdurrahman Wahid, president of Indonesia from 1999 to 2001, passed away December 30. A staunch defender of moderate Islam and secular politics, he was the former leader of Nahdlatul Ulama, a Muslim group with some 40 million members. He was also a member of UPF's Global Peace Council.
