In Memoriam: Pavel Georgievich Nikolayevsky
Moscow, Russia - On December 20, 2009, pastor Pavel Georgievich Nikolayevsky, member of Russian National Peace Council and Chairman of the Christian Synod, passed away. Ambassadors for Peace of Russia, his friends, and colleagues mourn the passing of this outstanding peacemaker and offered their condolences to his family.

In Memoriam: H.E. Rodrigo Carazo
San Jose, Costa Rica - H.E. Dr. Rodrigo Carazo, President of Costa Rica (1978-82), died December 9 at the age of 82. A UPF Ambassador for Peace and member of its Global Peace Council, Carazo spoke at a peace conference in Seoul in July promoting "a renewed United Nations that embodies the parental heart of God.”
Promoting Family and Character Education in Ireland
Dublin, Ireland - On December 9 a small group of Ambassadors for Peace gathered at Unity House, the UPF Peace Embassy in central Dublin, to discuss issues related to the development of a character education program as well as to hear the views of an Irish senator on strengthening traditional family values.

Kumasi, Ghana - On the annual day of celebration, many people gathered to pay homage to Ashanti King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The President of the Council of Chiefs described the peacebuilding work of UPF, and an Ambassador for Peace certificate was presented to the king.

UPF Awards Ceremony Celebrated in New York
New York, USA - Four outstanding New York and New Jersey residents were honored for excellence in leadership and 45 others received the prestigious Ambassador for Peace appointment at the Universal Peace Federation of New York and New Jersey's annual awards ceremony held April 4 at the Manhattan Center in New York. Rev. In-jin Moon, second daughter of UPF Founders Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon, represented her parents in hosting the event.

Preaching Peace and Human Security at Eid al-Adha
