Each year on September 21, the UN invites all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities and commemorate the International Day of Peace through education and public awareness on issues related to peace. In the quest for peace, UPF chapters around the world organize commemorations of the International Day of Peace each year.
The theme for 2023 is "Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals."
Programs may include:
- Reading United Nations and UPF statements about the International Day of Peace
- Observing one minute of silence
- A forum on the theme chosen by the United Nations
- Prayers and readings from various religions (English | French | Russian | Spanish), which can be read as representatives of various religions each light a candle or pour water into a common bowl
- Music, art, dances, and food from various cultures
- A march, rally, service project, or sports event (for examples, click here)

• Семья – это школа любви и мира. В семье человек постигает основные добродетели, как в личном, так и в социальном плане. Понимание семьи как школы любви помогает нам осознать, что семья – это важнейший социальный институт. Основой семьи является брак, скрепленный верой и преданностью.
• Жизнь на благо других людей – это путь к примирению всех членов разобщенной человеческой семьи. Живя ради других людей, мы думаем прежде всего о других, а не о себе. Сущность хорошего характера – любовь, отраженная в бескорыстных поступках.
• Мир достижим в сотрудничестве вне этнических, религиозных и национальных границ. Прочного мира невозможно достичь лишь с помощью политического компромисса, необходимо проникнуть в корни конфликта. Мыслить шире расовых, религиозных и этнических интересов – вот императив нашего времени. Вера дает людям силу всепрощения, а любовь помогает преодолеть даже поколениями копившиеся ненависть, обиду и жестокость.
More than 20,000 people are expected to gather in Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, in the name of peace from October 17 to 19. They will be taking part in the Global Peace Festival 2008 during the three-day event. Jointly organized by the Universal Peace Federation Malaysia (UPF), the United Nations Association of Malaysia (UNAM), and Pure Love & True Family Malaysia for World Peace (PLTFMWP), the event hopes to promote a vision of world peace through service to others, inter-religious harmony and healthy families.
On July 17, 2008, the Cuellar family, the nation of Belize, Central America, and the whole Western hemisphere lost a precious son, a father, a brother, a patriot, a true friend, and a great man of God. Mark Anthony Cuellar was a true pioneer and visionary, a man of boundless enthusiasm.

Dans le cadre du Festival international pour la paix, les ambassadeurs de paix russes ont décidé la tenue à Moscou et dans d’autres villes et régions de Russie d’une série d’événements publics en 2008 sous le slogan « Paix dans le cœur - amour dans la famille – paix sur la terre ».
Jean-Paul Samputu est l’un des deux seuls membres de sa famille à avoir survécu aux atrocités qui déchirèrent sa patrie du Rwanda. Samputu a perdu ses parents, trois frères et une sœur. En octobre 1990, il avait été emprisonné avec d’autres Tutsi pendant six mois. De retour dans son village, son père l’avertit : mieux valait partir, car il était un musicien connu et la violence qui ne tarderait pas à exploser mettrait sa vie en danger.
