Jean Paul Samputu es uno de los dos únicos miembros de su familia que sobrevivieron las atrocidades ocurridas en su tierra natal de Rwanda, África. Samputu perdió a sus padres, tres hermanos y una hermana. En octubre de 1990 lo habían encarcelado junto con otros Tutsis durante seis meses.
Bajándose del autobús de Beirut, jóvenes voluntarios llegan a Fawka Nabatieh siendo bienvenidos con la sensación de ser un pueblo calmo y acogedor. Dos grupos libaneses de boy-scout compuestos por 25 miembros de entre 15 a 20 años, han venido a pintar juntos con voluntarios locales un Mural para la Paz.

The “International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace” has been launched as a worldwide association of parliamentarians which provides a forum to bring their experience and wisdom to bear in the search for solutions to our world’s problems.
Not much time is left until the kick off of the world-wide relay of Global Peace Festivals this year. It begins July 2-5, in Paraguay. Excitement has been stirred up throughout this South American nation. GPF is endorsed by the government -- the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Tourism.
The conference was held in Seoul from June 11-15, 2008. The program for the conference can be found here.
El Festival para la Paz Global (GPF) 'Asunción 2008' levantará "una bandera de esperanza para toda América", manifestó la Senadora de Paraguay, Lilian Samaniego, en la presentación del GPF en Buenos Aires, el 16 de mayo 2008, en el Auditorio 'Dr. Juan Jesús Blasnik', con la presencia de líderes sociales, religiosos, políticos y demás sectores. El programa incluyó números artísticos y el video promocional del GPF 2008
Desde el miércoles 7 al martes 13 de mayo de 2008, realizamos seminarios en algunos liceos en Paraguay sobre la "Educación del Carácter y Valores Familiares". Al mismo tiempo se animó a los estudiantes y a los profesores a participar y apoyar el Festival Global de Paz a celebrarse en julio.
ASUNCION, PARAGUAY — On May 12, the official "kick off" ceremony for the Global Peace Festival in Paraguay was held in the prestigious Excelsior Hotel. The hall was overflowing, with no place to sit, and even no place to stand. Everyone looked excited to be part of what they expect to be a great festival in July.
