Strengthening Connections with NGOs in Lithuania
Panevezys, Lithuania - UPF-Lithuania held a meeting on March 23 with the “Brotherhood of January 13th” — an NGO from Panevezys, one of the larger cities in Lithuania. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen connections with that organization that began when its members participated in the World Peace Tours in Lithuania.

UPF and UN Partner on International Women's Day Observance in Georgia
Tbilisi, Georgia - UPF-Georgia in partnership with the local UN office conducted discussion on the topic of “The role of women in peacemaking” on March 6 at the National Youth Palace on the International Women's Day. About 40 young Georgians discussed the meaning of peace, peacemaking, and service, and ways to put an end to violence towards women.

Ottawa, Canada - The National Capital Peace Council of UPF-Ottawa met to listen to former Executive Director of the Canadian Islamic Congress, Dr. Zijad Delic, speak about True Leadership in the Context of the Middle East. Given the context of current developments in the Middle East and North Africa, his presentation sparked a lively discussion.

International Women’s Day Celebrated in Tokyo
Tokyo, Japan - UPF-Japan organized a commemorative event for International Women’s Day in Tokyo on March 2. The event was co-hosted by the Women’s Forum of Ambassadors for Peace, and more than 50 participants (80 percent of them women) attended.
