Day of Families Observed in Washington, DC
Washington, DC, USA - The UN International Day of Families was commemorated at The Washington Times’ Beech Room in the District of Columbia on June 17. Diplomats, media representatives, community activists, and NGO leaders made up the one hundred guests. The six speakers represented a wide spectrum of thinkers dedicated to supporting and strengthening families worldwide.

Japanese Tea Ceremony in Washington, DC
Washington, DC, USA - May 26 was the hottest day of the year with the temperature at 90 degrees. The driveway and entrance to the UPF Peace Embassy was watered down to cool it and to welcome the guests, signifying purification of the surroundings of the "Tea House" as the guests arrived. Black sedans and diplomat-plated cars arrived one by one, dropping off their guests, who were greeted at the door by a kimono-clad hostess.
UPF Founders' Tours
The UPF Founders, Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon, accompanied by the UPF executive leadership team, traveled in Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa to speak to the public on the theme of “Building a World of Universal Peace.” Programs took place in Spain, Italy, Norway, Greece, Turkey, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, USA, and Nigeria.

Paramabiro, Suriname - UPF-Suriname held a rally in the ballroom of the Hotel Krasnapolsky on May 28 under the leadership of the new chairman, Hon. Walther Sandriman. The theme was, “Proclamation of an Era of Universal Peace.”

Honiara, Solomon Islands - A donation from UPF-Solomon Islands to assist victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami was delivered to a representative of the Japanese government at the office of the Parliament House on May 27.
Africa Day Celebrated in Georgia
Tbilisi, Georgia - UPF-Georgia and volunteers from Cote d’Ivoire organized park cleaning project in Tbilisi near the Tbilisi Sea area on May 25. It was the first time for Africans to participate in such program in Georgia, and they were grateful to have such opportunity.
