Yekaterinburg, Russia - UPF-Russia held meetings in Yekaterinburg on Oct. 11 and 12 to discuss the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures, 2013-2022, established by the UN General Assembly. Yekaterinburg, a city in the Ural region, lies on the border between Europe and Asia and has historically been a meeting point of cultures.
Riga, Latvia - UPF held a Peace and Security Forum in Riga, Latvia, on Sept. 28, 2013 on the theme “The Baltics and Russia: Toward a Common European Future” as part of UPF's Baltic Dialogue Initiative.
UPF-Russia organized a variety of events commemorating the International Day of Peace, September 21, in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, Serov, and Volgograd.

Paris, France – The Russia-France Peace and Friendship Super-marathon finished in Paris on August 1 with a multi-ethnic team of 30 runners who overcame many difficulties and bought a banner of friendship from Moscow to Paris.
Novosibirsk, Russia - The UN International Day of Friendship was celebrated In the Novosibirsk House of Veterans on July 30 On the initiative of UPF-Siberia, volunteers gathered together to create a "Flowerbed of Peace" and offer it as a gift to the veterans. The central activity was creation of the flowerbed styled as the map of the world with the Pacific Ocean in the center instead of the traditional Atlantic Ocean, as a symbol of peace.
Seliger Lake, Russia - The Young Ambassadors for Peace Eurasian Club organized a simulation of a World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference at the annual Seliger International Youth Forum on July 24-25.
Slyudanka, Russia - The 4th Baikal Volunteer Forum, July 8 to 21, was organized by volunteers with support of UPF and several other non-profit organizations. The focus was on developing a framework for promoting ecotourism and encouraging local people to take more initiative in caring for the unique ecosystem around this Siberian lake.
Moscow, Russia - An international conference on "Peace Prospects on the Korean Peninsula” in observance of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War took place on July 20, 2013 in Moscow.
Moscow, Russia - The inauguration ceremony of the Head of the Moscow branch of the National Advisory Council for a Peaceful and Democratic Unification under the President of the Republic of Korea took place on July 19 at the Korston Hotel in Moscow.
Moscow, Russia - UPF-Russia was officially invited to participate in a June 26 round table on the topic of economic migration to Russia at the Press Center of the Parliament newspaper.
Moscow, Russia - At the zero kilometer, Resurrection Gate at the Red Square in Moscow, the Junior Athletics marathon "Children against Drugs - I Choose Sport! Towards the Universiade 2013" began on June 1. Each year, the Universal Peace Federation is a co-organizer of the marathon.
Moscow, Russia - In anticipation the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, top experts and Russian scholars gathered on June 5, 2013, at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow to discuss “Korean War – Results, Lessons, Further Steps Towards Peace on the Korean Peninsula.”
Kondopoga, Russia - A youth conference promoting harmony, peace, and tolerance took place in the Karelian town of Kondopoga, on May 30.Students of local schools, lyceums, and colleges, as well as students from Petrozavodsk gathered together in the hall of the Youth Cultural Center.
A festival in honor of the African Diaspora was held in Novosibirsk on May 25. Also on May 25, children in St. Petersburg made drawings and origami cranes with goodwill messages to send to children in Africa. A round table on June 19 assembled scholars and activists from Russia and Africa to discuss progress over the past 50 years.
The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, May 21, 2013, was observed at an international concert for veterans in Siberia and a lesson about Azerbaijani culture in Russia's Far East.
Moscow, Russia - A Pageant of Beauty, Character, and Lifestyle took place at the Russian Federation Social University in Moscow on May 18. Among the participants were students of Moscow universities. This contest is unique because the jury takes into consideration not only the external appearance of the contestants but also their character and lifestyle.
