St. Petersburg, Russia - The UPF chapter of St. Petersburg, Russia, held its second regional meeting in the form of a seminar on "Strengthening the Family as the Foundation for a Stable Society."
Following the increasing pace of UPF activities worldwide in 2007, and stimulated by the monthly international leadership seminars for Ambassadors for Peace, UPF-Russia is stepping up its own activities with programs of outreach in several cities of Russia.
The Eurasian Region delegation of 50 people attended the Ambassadors for Peace Leadership Seminar under the theme "Providing Vision and Leadership at a Time of Global Crisis" which took place in Seoul, Korea, June 12-16, 2007.
We need meetings of the religious leaders, congresses of religious leaders, where they will discuss not their differences in doctrine but the world situation. I don't think there will be serious differences of view when the topic is war and peace in a given region or peace on the planet or the global ecological crisis. I believe that these issues are very important for religions.
The inauguration of the Universal Peace Federation in Russia took place in a restored theatre on the outskirts of Moscow.
Most Northeast Asian countries pursue highly pragmatic policies in the sphere of economic interactions which makes possible major multilateral projects, above all in such fields as energy and transportation. Russia is well placed to play a key role in implementing these projects which gives her a chance to raise her profile in the region and to encourage development of her Far Eastern territories.
Moscow, Russia - On July 2, 2002 the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace presented 12 Ambassador for Peace certificates to runners and organizers of a Super-marathon whose participants are running from Moscow to Johannesburg, South Africa over the next two months under the title "With Love - to Peace and Harmony."
