Yekaterinburg, Russia - A webinar on volunteerism entitled “Values work” took place in Yekaterinburg on April 14. The hosts, leaders of the site about self-development and the training campaign “SoStudent.ru” and UPF activists, Tatyana Terchaninova and Sergei Skvortsov, shared their experiences and outcomes on how to organize and conduct a values-based volunteer project.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - A meeting of Ambassadors for Peace and public activists with UPF-Eurasia leaders Mr. EijiTokuno and Mr. Jacques Marion took place in Yekaterinburg on April 12. The guests shared about significant UPF events during the past few months, the vision of the UPF founder, and ways to promote universal peace and prosperity.
Moscow, Russia - The annual conference initiated by UPF-Eurasia on “Peace and Security in Multicultural Societies at a time of Global Crisis” took place in Moscow April 6-7, 2012.
Seoul, Korea - Eurasian athletes took medals at the recent World Festival of Culture and Sports (including the Wongu Peace Cup) in South Korea March 21 to 24. Professionals and amateurs from 40 nations competed as continental teams for medals in football, basketball, 100 m and 400 m races, table tennis, badminton, martial arts, and traditional Asian games of harmony and unity.
St. Petersburg, Russia - UPF representatives reported on the Baltic Dialogue Project at the third theoretical and practical conference on the theme of “The Baltic Region Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” in St. Petersburg March 23–24.
Tyumen, Russia - A psychologist who initiated the project “SoStudent.ru” and UPF activist, Evgeny Skvortsov, attended the meeting of youth leaders of the Tyumen region March 23-24 and conducted a number of classes for high school students and educators.
Novosibirsk, Russia - Ambassadors for Peace in Siberia participated in leadership development programs on March 22, 2012, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Vladivostok, Russia - A UPF meeting on the theme of “Movement of Ambassadors for Peace: Values of the Modern Co-prosperity and Co-development” took place in Vladivostok at the Equator Hotel on March 18.
Novosibirsk, Russia - An International Women’s Day forum on the theme of “Solidarity of Women in the Age of Globalization” took place in Novosibirsk on March 6. Leaders of women’s NGOs, other NGOs, and Ambassadors for Peace addressed issues of child rearing and women's dignity.
St. Petersburg, Russia - A regular session of the Northwest Russia Peace Council with participation of Ambassadors for Peace took place in St. Petersburg on March 3. A report about the recent Religious Youth Service project “St. Petersburg as a city of Interreligious Harmony” was presented to the audience.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - In a small UPF-Urals office, a hands-on training on “My life mission” took place on February 25. It was conducted by the author of the project “SoStudent.ru,” Evgeny Skvortsov, a UPF activist and professional psychologist.
Moscow, Russia - The Russian Peoples’ Friendship University in Moscow hosted a Conference of the Assembly of the Russian Peoples on February 24. The largest NGO of Russia organized this gathering to discuss the future national and interethnic policies of the Russian Federation.
A variety of activities commemorating World Interfaith Harmony Week took place in cities throughout Russia, including Moscow, Kondopoga, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, St. Petersburg, Tula, Vladivostok, and Yekaterinburg.
