Lake Seliger, Russia - UPF's Play Football for Peace organizers were awarded a grant from Russia's National Prospects Foundation and met President Vladimir Putin during the annual Seliger Forum August 1 and 2.
Ryazan, Russia - The Ryazan Regional Children’s Library hosted a celebration of the International Day of Friendship, July 27 for adults and children representing different nationalities and faiths. The children made drawings on the theme of friendship, which were displayed at the library, and enjoyed music, dancing, and poetry.
Slyudyanka, Russia - The third annual Baikal Volunteer Forum, July 9-22, 2012, brought together 32 people from throughout Russia to make improvements along its southwestern coast and promote ecological awareness, tourism, and preservation of its ecosystem.

Washington, DC, USA - Scholars and diplomats at a June 28, 2012 forum on “Security Cooperation in Northeast Asia: Russia’s Role in Stability in Eurasia and the Far East” addressed prospects for stability in Eurasia and Northeast Asia.
Novosibirsk, Russia - Universal Peace Federation volunteers participated in the celebration of the 119th anniversary of the founding of Novosibirsk on June 24 and helped promote the International Day of Peace, September 21.
Balashikha, Russia - UPF-Russia organized a meeting of Young Ambassadors for Peace, journalists, and Korean War Veterans on June 23, 2012, marking the 62nd anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War.
Pokrovskoye, Russia - A program for children in the village of Pokrovskoye June 13-15, 2012, included talks about moral values, interactive communication, games, sports contests, good deeds, analysis and self-analysis, singing songs and staging skits.
St. Petersburg, Russia - Ambassadors for Peace in North-west Russia met in St. Petersburg on June 13. Konstantin Krylov, Secretary General of UPF-Russia, reported about events in Eurasian chapters within the past three months.
Moscow, Russia - Starting at the "zero” kilometer in Red Square in Moscow, the track-and-field super-marathon for youth entitled “Children against Drugs – I Choose Sports!” was launched on June 11. By the time the race ends on June 23 in Minsk, Belarus, it is hoped that participants will be planning more ways to create a culture of peace by means of sports.
Artyomovsk, Russia - A friendly football match on the theme “Play Football Make Peace” was initiated by UPF-Urals in Artyomovsk, Sverdlovsk region on June 10. Among the participants were teenagers of three teams: the sports club “Patriot” from Artyomovsk; the field sports club “Olympus” from Mostovskoye village; and a team from Pokrovskoye village.
Perm, Russia - In commemoration of the International Day of Children’s Protection, June 5, 2012, Russian children made flowers and wrote letters for orphans in Georgia.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - A city amateur half-marathon on the theme “I choose life” took place in Yekaterinburg on May 27. It was organized and carried out by Young Ambassadors for Peace Ralif Galiyev, Tatyana Turchaninova, and Evgeny Skvortsov. There were 48 runners and about 80 participants.
In commemoration of Africa Day, UPF-Russia organized a friendly football match in Mosocow and a forum and party in Novosibirsk.
UPF-Russia organized a variety of programs in 11 cities throughout the federation on the International Day of Families, including forums, round-table discussions, artistic and cultural activities, visits to veterans, and a beauty pageant.
During Russia's annual "Spring Week of Goodness," April 21-23, 2012, UPF volunteers and Youth Ambassadors for Peace carried out about 100 projects in several cities.
Vladivostok, Russia - Volunteers with UPF and the Patriots of Primorye youth movement removed 30 bags of trash from the popular tourist destination Mount Livadia April 21-22, 2012.
A series of “Run Hour” events took place in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Tula, and other cities of Russia on April 22 promoting the Spring Week of Goodness.
