Karelia, Russia - The second International Innovation Forum “Hyperborea – 2010” took place August 3-9 on the theme of “Active Youth.” it was initiated by the State Committee of Youth Affairs of the Karelian Republic and the Regional Youth Center of Karelia. The main purpose was to train an international youth team of Hyperboreans, self-developing people with high morals and ability to formulate and realize their goals.

Dombai, Russia - The first Caucasus Forum for the Youth of Russia took place July 23-31 in Dombai in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic of the Russian Federation. Forum participants proposed creating a Youth of Russia Interreligious Council to counter the xenophobia among young people of the various religious communities in the Caucasus region.

Moscow, Russia - On July 29, UPF-Russia hosted a special consultation on issues related to the Northeast Asia Peace Initiative. The main speaker, Konstantin Zharinov, explained about a project organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War, involving Korean War veterans from the Soviet Union. A fundraising campaign will be organized in order to create a commemorative exhibit in a Moscow school about the Korean conflict made with artifacts donated by Soviet veterans.

Moscow, Russia - In line with the UN proclamation of 2010 as the International Year of Rapprochement of Cultures, the Moscow House of Nationalities Youth Department developed a program called “Dialogue of cultures” under the guidance of Kristina Volkova. Moscow, Russia - UPF Russia marked Africa Day in two programs on May 25. The Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Africa invited UPF to make a presentation at the Institute's Africa Day conference. The other event on the day was held by UPF-Russia itself in partnership with one of the largest Russian interethnic NGOs, the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia.
