Yekaterinburg, Russia - Fifteen representatives of different spiritual teachings came together in Yekaterinburg on April 17 with the purpose to once again join their efforts and offer prayer about realizing ideas of peace and harmony for all the peoples.
UPF-Eurasia organizes practical activities in the 15 nations of the former Soviet Union, Mongolia and China. UPF Peace Ambassadors strive to bring about concrete changes in all realms of society: politics, religion, economy, education, the media, etc.
Moscow, Russia - The annual conference of UPF-Eurasia on “Pressing Issues of Integration and Building the Culture of Peace in Eurasian Nations” took place in Moscow on April 9, 2011. One hundred and twenty delegates from seven nations acknowledged the importance of peacemaking efforts in the region.
The Eurasian Peace Council calls for cooperation and interaction among all who desire peace, mutual understanding, and cooperation in the region and recommends joint peacemaking efforts of governments, religious organizations, NGOs, and the private sector.
Ufa, Russia - Young Peace Ambassadors have taken up the "Run Hour” program that began in Yekaterinburg in 2008. On April 4, the sports event started in Yekaterinburg at 2:00 pm, and then the baton was picked up in Ufa.
St. Petersburg, Russia - UPF Ambassadors for Peace held a regular meeting of the Peace Council. Secretary General of UPF-Eurasia, Jacques Marion, spoke about the nature of human freedom and responsibility using the topic “Towards the society of interconnection, working together for mutual well-being, and universal values.”
Komarovo, Russia - After the young people arrived at the camp near St. Petersburg for the Guiding Star program, there followed settling into the accommodations, meeting, welcoming, songs, meeting the coordinators, learning rules, receiving badges, T-shirts, etc. Thus, the March 27-30 camp was launched.
UPF-Eurasia's Baltic Dialogue Initiative seeks to establish a new channel of dialogue between the populace of the Baltic nations and Russia, on the basis of shared European values, for the purpose of promoting better relations between the Russian-speaking and the native populations of the Baltic states.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - In a hall of a musical school in Yekaterinburg, the 16th Festival of Spiritual Creativity on the theme of “Realm of Light” took place March 26-27l. The event was aimed at developing respect, mutual understanding, and harmonious relations between representatives of different religions, spiritual teachings, cultures, and social strata.
Novosibirsk, Russia - UPF-Siberia organized a celebration of the spring equinox and the rejuvenation of nature on the first UN International Day of Navruz, March 21, 2011.
Ryazan, Russia - The Secretary General of UPF-Russia, Konstantin Krylov, gave a presentation in Ryazan on March 20 about conflicts and ways of solving them. “It’s a great pity that we had not heard about it earlier!" one person responded. "We could have refrained from many mistakes and avoided many conflicts in our life.”
Moscow, Russia - The Russian Peace Council met with the new Chair of UPF-Eurasia, Mr. Eiji Tokuno, in Moscow on March 20. After a presentation on the need for good relations between Russia and Japan in both days of tribulation and everyday life, participants stood for a moment of silence in honor of those who died during the tragedy of March 11.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - An interfaith gathering to pray for peace and harmony took place in Yekaterinburg on March 13, 2011.
Moscow, Russia - At the Moscow Academy of Economics and Law, UPF organized a round-table discussion on the “Causes and Ways of Solving International Conflicts in the Youth Milieu” on March 11. The discussions stimulated further collaborations among students, UPF representatives, and experts in international relations.
Novosibirsk, Siberia - Students from universities in the Urals and Siberia traveled to Novosibirsk to spend three days playing roles of diplomats from nations around the world addressing issues of cyber security, drug abuse, and the situation in Afghanistan.
Yekaterinburg and Ufa, Russia - Youth Ambassadors for Peace in Yekaterinburg have been promoting the monthly "Run Hour" sports initiative since 2008. Since then the project has spread to more cities in the Urals, and athletes in Ufa, the capital of the Bashkir Republic of the Russian Federation, took the program over.
Novosibirsk, Russia - On the 100th anniversary of the women’s movement, UPF-Siberia together with other grassroots organizations held programs on March 4 and 8 related to the International Women’s Day on “Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women."

Ryazan, Russia - A workshop on the origin and resolution of conflicts took place on February 27. The event was attended by public figures and representatives of NGOs of the city.
Moscow, Russia - The Secretary General of UPF-Russia, Konstantin Krylov, met with Ambassadors for Peace, public figures, and interested people on February 25 at the Peace Embassy in Moscow. The theme of the lecture was “The Cause of Conflicts.”
